Milford Township and Proud of It

This 1875 map from Andreas shows the portion of the diagonal road that ran to the northwest from Nevada toward Fort Dodge still in existence at that time. The family names on the map are, by no means, a complete listing of the people who lived in the area. There was a fee for having one's name placed on the map and most considered it not worth it.
Note the ford of the South Skunk River southwest of the Milford Mills in the west middle of Sec 7. This map shows the location of the nine one room schools.
