He married Hattie Krohn who was born east of Roland in 1881 to pioneer settlers, Mr. and Mrs. Hans Krohn. Four children were born to this union, Allis, who passed away in 1951; Harold, died in infancy; the two surviving are Mrs. Anna Harriet Borwick and Samuel H. Twedt.
