May 1926 Commencement Speech by Class President, Everett Halterman. Perhaps this will be the last time we will ever be together again. If only I knew that I were to start over again in High School, it would mean the four happiest years of my life to live over again. When we started in as freshmen we had this goal to reach. We are here. I want to thank each of the teachers for the kind help we have received during our school years and especially the last two years. We have not the opportunity to go through High School again, but we have the opportunity to make a success in life’s school. That is our aim now.

(Insert for May 1926: Everett Halterman and Alice (Heintz) Marsh were selected as outstanding students of the class of 1926 and names engraved on school trophy cup.

May 27, 1926 School is over for the school year. Graduating class was 21, near the largest class.

June 20, 1926 - The School Exhibit last Friday has been pronounced by all as the best they have ever seen. Each teacher’s exhibit illustrated beyond doubt that the children have made excellent progress during the year. The splendid exhibit was entirely the work of teachers and their pupils and all deserve praise for their excellent work displayed.

June 20, 1926 – Grade Faculty Entertained Monday evening after school Doris Morrison entertained the grade teachers, misses Reed, Sherman, Stratton, Holtby, Byal, Signs and Keeran at a picnic supper in the woods and later a slumber party at her home.

August 26, 1926 – The Graduating Class of 1914 of Collins High School held their first reunion and picnic in the City Park at Maxwell on Sunday, August 22.

September 2, 1926 – School Begins Next Monday Everything in Readiness for the Term. On next Monday morning will be heard the old school bell ringing once more calling the children to work after three months of recreation and fun. Following is the list of teachers and the grades they will handle: J. E. Hollingsworth – Supt.; Earl Cope – Principal; M. S. Applegate – Coach and Ag.; Ruth M. Shomler – English; Emma Garner, Eco. and Sci.; Mable Cairns – Music; (Grade 12 - 20 pupils; Grade 11 - 13 pupils; Grade 10 - 12 pupils. [all girls]; Grade 9 - 21 pupils.) Clara Signs – Junior High (7th Grade - 22 pupils, 8th Grade - 20 pupils). Junior High and High School = 108.
