August 2, 1975. School Board Election Gary Coughenour is candidate for District 2, which is currently held by Benny Caulkins. Rodger Huggins is candidate for Director at Large, currently held by Roger Huntrods. Neither Huntrods nor Caulkins are seeking reelection.
September 24, 1975. Mingo softball pitcher limited Collins to no hits, striking out 18 batters and walking 7. Collins scored their lone run in the 3rd inning on 2 walks, an error and a wild pitch. Mingo scored 1 run in the 2nd, 4 in the 4th, and 2 in the 7th for a 7-1 victory.
September 25, 1975. Five-year School Enrollment Figures show Trend Collins School enrollment 1971-72 = 245, 1972-73 = 246, 1973-74 = 204, 1974-75 = 207, 1975-76 = 208.
November 6, 1975. College Night for High School Students and Parents was held at Nevada. Schools invited to Nevada were Colo, Collins, Maxwell, Ballard, NESCO, Roland-Story, and Gilbert High Schools. Being able to talk with authorities on colleges, helps people decide exactly where they want to continue their education. Plans are underway for something like this again next year.
