June 4, 1973. All-American High School Track Championships. The meet features the best athletes from all over the nation with 12 states competing in the girls division. Collins girls participants are: Deb Carroll competing in the 100 Yd and 220 Yd Dashes, Diana Atwood competing in 100 Meter Hurdles, and the 440 Yd Relay team members.
June 4, 1973. Boys Summer BaseBall. Garwin blanked the Clippers 6-0, allowing only 3 hits. Garwin scored their 6 runs in the 1st 3 innings as Collins pitcher appeared to get stronger as the game progressed, according to coach Bill Brooks. Collins hits were by Ken Caulkins, Steve Lillard, and Jerold Fitzgerald.
June 5, 1973. Senior Trip. Twenty-seven members of the Collins senior class, accompanied by Mrs. Grimm, Mr. and Mrs. Hoien, Mr. and Mrs. Behrens, took a Continental Trailways bus tour through the Ozarks. They visited Bagnal Dam, toured a cave, enjoyed a river boat ride and stayed overnight in the Ozarks. The next day they traveled to St. Louis to visit Grant's farm and the Gateway Arch.
June 6, 1973. Collins baseBall team took advantage of 9 walks and collected 6 hits in defeating Maxwell 7-2 in Ta-Ma-Ja Conference game. Ken Caulkins pitched a quality game, not walking a batter, 12 strikeouts, and scattering 7 hits. Holsinger and Lillard had 2 hits each for the Clippers.
June 11, 1973. Boys Summer BaseBall. SEMCO's knuckle-Ball pitcher completely baffled the Collins Clippers as they were unable to garner any hits and runs--14-0 loss.
