June 5, 1972. U. S. Track and Field Meet at Urbandale, High School Collins Won The Senior Division Team Title at the 10th Annual Iowa Women's Division. Deb Carroll's victories came in the 100 Yd Dash (11.5 secs), 220 Yd Dash (26.1 secs, and Long Jump(17' 1"). Deb Carroll, Cathy Kingman, Mary Beth Kingman, and Diana Atwood won the 440 Yd Relay in 51.5 secs. Diana Atwood won the 100 Meter Hurdles (15.5 secs.). Mary Beth Kingman was 2nd in the Long Jump. The Clippeettes' 880 Yd Relay team (Members not listed) finished 2nd.

The Iowa State Bar Citizenship Award was presented to Dennis Stratton. The National Honor Society took in Craig Stratton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Stratton, and Bill Huntrods, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Huntrods. Vaughn Noring won the Iowa Scholarship Award and Dennis Stratton took the Collins Teachers Association Scholarship.
