April 29, 1971. Girls District Track Assignments The Story City meet will be held Thursday May 6 with19 schools participating, including Collins.
May 3, 1971. Thirty-eight members of the 3rd, 4th and 5th grades with their teachers observed Earth Week by planting 250 small pine trees on the Stone farm which is operated by Bill Huntrods, southwest of Collins and the Lyle Smith farm near Nevada. The young people carried sack lunches and put in a long hard day on the job Saturday.
