September 17, 1969 Baseball New Providence got their only two hits and scored all their three runs in the 1st inning as they nipped Collins 3-2 at New Providence. Collins scored once in the 5th when Steve Carroll singled, John Hale walked, and Randy Smith singled. The Clippers nearly pulled it out in the 7th. Rick McQuiston walked, Stan Carroll singled and an error moved the runners to 2nd and 3rd. Randy Smith again singled, scoring McQuiston, but a perfect throw from the outfield to home plate caught Carroll for the final out. John Hale pitched 4 innings and Steve Carroll pitched - 2 innings. Total innings - 6, hits - 2, runs - 3, strikeouts - 1, walks - 5. Team hits - 4, fielding errors - 1, strikeouts - 13. (Insert 2008: Lineup not found)

October 10, 1969 Wilber Juhl - 61, Supt. of Collins School passed away Thursday at Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames after suffering a massive coronary attack Thursday morning at school. Mr. Juhl came to Collins this year. He was a native of Dana, Iowa, graduated from Iowa State University in 1930 and was captain of the wrestling team.

November 14, 1969 The girls Ta Ma Ja Conference Jamboree will be held at Bondurant Saturday night and will include five half-games. There are nine conference teams and Green Mountain will be a guest team.
