September 9, 1969 School Board Elections: James Wright became director for District 2, and Roger Huntrods, member at large, on Monday's election. Both candidates were unopposed and 40 ballots were cast.

September 13, 1969 The regular meeting of the Collins Community School Board of Education will be held Monday night at 8:00 p.m. The board will be organized following the September 8 election and Roger Huntrods will be sworn in a new member. A board president will be elected and business transacted. The meeting is open to the public.
September 15, 1969 Sectional Baseball Tournament - First Round: Collins shut out in their last three games and just one run in four straight losses, pulled off a 7-4 upset win over New Providence. New Providence had earlier defeated the Clippers 7-0. Bob Earles pitched a 2-hitter and had plenty of support from Collins batters. The Clippers jumped ahead 3-0 in the 1st. John Hale singled; Earles was hit by a pitch, and Dick Huntrods singled home the first run. Stan Carroll reached base on an error that let the second run score and Marty Tjelmeland singled home the third run. The Clippers put together another three-run inning in the third. Randy Smith was safe on an error, and four straight hits by Dick Huntrods, Stan Carroll, Marty Tjelmeland and Steve Carroll brought in the runs. The final Clipper tally came in the 6th inning. Dick Huntrods had three of eight Collins hits. Bob Earles pitched: Innings - 7, hits - 2, runs - 4, strikeouts - 8, walks - 7. Team hits - 8, fielding errors (?). (Insert 2008: Lineup not found)
September 16, 1969 Sectional Baseball Tournament - Second Round: The Collins Clippers out hit Steamboat Rock, 8-3, but committed eight costly errors and were eliminated from the tournament, 11-6. The Clippers jumped ahead 3-0 in the 1st inning. Marv Huntrods had a single; John Hale walked and Randy Smith was safe on an error to load the bases. Dick Huntrods hit a two-run double and Smith later scored on a ground out for the 3-0 lead. Steamboat Rock scored four runs in the 2nd aided by three Collins errors. Bob Earles homered in the 3rd to again tie the score. Steamboat scored one run in the 3rd without a hit and four in the 4th on one hit and three Collins errors. Collins picked up one run in the 5th on a walk to Bob Earles, single by Randy Smith, a walk and an error on Marty Tjelmeland's grounder. Marv Huntrods homered for the final Collins run in the 6th inning. Collins team left the bases loaded three times. Bob Earles pitched 3 innings, John Hale pitched 4 innings: Hits - 3, Runs 11, strikeouts 6, walks - 4. Collins team hits - 8, team fielding errors - 8, team strikeouts - 3.
