Collins boys jumped to an 8-0 opening lead and closed the 1st quarter leading 21-5; halftime - 33-13, 3rd quarter 52-27. Collins reserves played much of the second half. Lineup: R. January 26, 1967 Basketball - A strong 2nd quarter by the Collins Clipperettes, scoring 19 points to Colo's 4 built a strong lead for a 62-47 win on the home court. Collins held control of the boards that gave them the 2nd shot opportunity and also allowed Colo only one shot several times. Scoring: Vicki Mullihan - 35; Sandy Rumbaugh - 13; Pam Snyder - 13; Linda Carroll - 1.

Collins Clippers took 1st quarter lead 14-9, but were unable to hold off Colo, losing 51-46. Collins had an 8-4 season record going into the game and Colo was 2-7. Lineup: Roger Holland - 16; Tom Morrison - 11; Mike Fitzgerald - 5; John Hale - 4; Jim Lehman - 4; Lee Huntrods - 3; Mike Mullihan - 2; Steve Holland - 1.

January 26, 1967 The Homecoming Dance was held Jan. 14 with attendance by Colo and Collins high school students, alumni, and parents. The dance band "Poverty Program" provided music for the dance. At 10:30 p.m. the queen and king candidates were presented; Mickey Holland, Jim Lehman; Sue Adams, Jim Hale; Sandy Rumbaugh, Lee Huntrods; Vicki Mullihan , Terry Krausman. Last year's king, Greg Robinson, crowned queen - Vicki Mullihan (sr.), and presented her with a bouquet of roses. Last year's queen, Linda Clemons, crowned king - Lee Huntrods (sr.).

February 1, 1967 Basketball - The Clipperettes posted their 14th win in 17 games - 60-56 over Green Mountain on the home floor. Collins girls took a 19-13 1st quarter lead; 32-28 halftime and 3rd quarter 50-42. Coach Bill Brooks, sited the play of his guard court; Mickey Holland, Kathy Hunt, and Cathy Clemons as the deciding factor of the game with an exceptional game from all three. Scoring: Vicki Mullihan - 29; Pam Snyder - 16; Sandy Rumbaugh - 15. Collins boys played a quality game in all but one phase - putting the ball through the hoop, losing to Green Mountain 49-46. The Clippers made only one of 16 shots in the 1st quarter trailing 6-3. Collins also trailed at halftime 18-15 and 3rd quarter 33-27. The Clippers closed the gap to one point with less than a minute remaining, but Green Mountain hit 2 crucial free throws for the victory 49-46. Lineup: Tom Morrison - 21; Mike Mullihan - 12; Roger Holland - 4; Jim Hale - 3; Lee Huntrods - 2; Mark Huntrods - 2; Jim Lehman - 2.

February 6, 1967 Collins Clipperettes took a 20-15 1st quarter lead and held off an aggressive Colo team for a 63-54 on the Colo court. The halftime score was Collins leading 32-30 and 3rd quarter 51-38. Colo cut the lead to 3 points with 3 minutes remaining; Collins responded with 6 points to close out the game for the victory. Lineup: Mullihan - 37; Rumbaugh - 18; Snyder - 8: Guard fouls: Holland - 4; Kimberley - 1; Clemons - 4; Hunt - 2.

The boys' game was a rough and tumble contest, tied 5 times with Colo coming from behind 4 times for the close win over Collins 68-65. First quarter score was 18-18; Collins trailed 32-33 at halftime and 45-46 at the 3rd quarter mark. A total of 58 fouls were called; 32 on Collins and 26 on Colo. One spectator counted 25 fouls in the last 3 minutes of play. Five Collins and two Colo players fouled out of the game. Stratton (Collins) made 8 consecutive free throws to put Collins in the lead early in the 4th quarter. With 5 minutes remaining in the game foul frequency increased, with 27 points scored by both teams with 17 of them by free throws. Lineup: R.
