October 20, 1966 We have received the results of the Iowa Test of Educational Development. This composite test includes Social Studies, Natural Science, English, Quantitative Thinking, Literature, General Vocabulary, and Math. The test results were very satisfying with results as follows; the percentage ranking is in comparison to other schools in the state of Iowa and also the Nation: 9th grade - 70% - Iowa Schools, 98% - Nation; 10th grade - 90% - Iowa Schools, 98% - Nation; 11th grade - 97% - Iowa Schools, 99% - Nation, (highest ranking class in Collins School; 12th grade - 74% - Iowa Schools, 97% - Nation. The middle group of all schools is 50% in Iowa, and 50% in the Nation. This means that very few schools in the state outranked the Collins high school in the national rankings and only 17 schools out of each 100 ranked as good or better in the State of Iowa. This is an increase over last year's scores. This test is furnished by Iowa University and is corrected at the University of Iowa in Iowa City. We are very proud of our students in this achievement. (Insert 2010: Again, your attention is called to the above scores. They are evaluating Collins school to all other Iowa schools and in addition, ranking Collins school to all other schools in the U.S. Very fine achievements.)
