November 11, 1965 Greg Robinson, Collins, was one of 500 Iowa High School students to attend the Governors' United Nations Youth Day Conference in Des Moines on Oct. 27. Highlights of the day were an address on the United Nations in today' world by Senator David Stanley, Muscatine, and group discussions on "United Nations Peace-Keeping Machinery," and "Developing Nations through the United Nations." Delegates also watched and participated in model General Assembly and Security Council. The model General Assembly debated whether or Red China should be represented in the U. N.; intervention in the India-Pakistan border dispute; questions that are currently being discussed in the actual Security Council in New York. The Eastern Story County delegates represented Iran throughout the day's activity. They studied about Iran before the conference, so they would be prepared to actually represent the viewpoint of this country.
