September 24, 1964 The Parent Teachers Organization (PTO) will welcome the 17 teachers and Supt. T. J. Reith on Sept. 28 at the high school auditorium/gym 7:30 p.m. We urge you to join the PTO for the small fee of .50. The PTO's goal this year will be a public address system for the gym. October 15, 1964 Senior News - We are selling annual ads, which most of the businessmen in Collins and surrounding nearby towns. We still have a long way to go before reaching completion. Senior pictures will be taken at Apgar's in Marshalltown. Physics is a real interesting class so far, but we keep struggling with it. We have been writing poems in English. Basketball practice has started.

October 22, 1964 Grade News: 7th - Every Friday we receive current events newspaper, which is part of our Civics class. In Science we studied about the first lamp-lighting system. 8th - We have been reading books so we can write book reports that are due every nine weeks. History research papers also are due each nine weeks. The boys are doing mechanical drawings in Industrial Arts. We have also had training in using mechanical instruments. The girls in Home Ec. are learning the intricate problems of sewing.
