February 27, 1964 E. E. Jackson, 66, Superintendent of Collins Schools for the past 14 years has tendered his resignation effective July 1, and plans to retire from school work. Collins Board of Education was aware of Jackson's plans. Native of Ringgold County, Iowa. Jackson attended college at Simpson and obtained master degree at the University of Iowa. He began teaching at Melcher, Iowa in 1921, Gravity, Iowa, for two years, Lohrville, Carlisle, Iowa for eight years, superintendent of New Sharon for 14 years before coming to Collins.

The Collins Board of Education, which had held a conference on reorganization with the Maxwell board a few weeks ago, met with the Mingo Board of Education on the same subject Monday evening. Collins has also scheduled a meeting with the Colo board next Monday. Supt. E. E. Jackson said no committees were appointed and no definite plans made; that the meetings were just general discussions of the future of the school districts and the possibilities that might lie in joint action.

March 9, 1964 Basketball teams in Story County had several stars this year with one school that had two stars who went almost unnoticed except to their school: Vicki Mullihan (6 ft. freshman) and John Crabb (sophomore). Vicki, honor student, scored 466 points in 20 games, for 23.7 average per game, hitting 45% of her shots from the field. Karen Kingman (1965) - 346 points, average 17.3 per game. Pat Kingman (1964) - 102 points, 5.1 average. Other forwards: Sandy Rumbaugh, Marilyn Carson, Sherry Granger, Pam Luing, Linda Tiffany. Jeanette Long was the leading rebounder in the guard court - 306, 15 per game average. Janie Lehman - 165 rebounds, Linda Tiffany - 127 rebounds. Sandy Christian (reserve guard) - 29 rebounds. Other girls on the team: Linda Clemons, Carla Rhoads, Mickey Holland, Beverley Kimberley, Jean Kimberley, Vickie Robinette. The Clipperettes scored 934 points, average 46.7 per game. Opponents scored 1,203, averaging 60.1.

John Crabb, honor student, scored 286 points for 15.9 average per game, hitting 38% of field goal attempts, rebounds - 147. Jerry Crabb, brother, was second in team scoring with 188 for 9.9 average per game. Harold Laughlin - 121 points, average 6.5 average per game. Denny Krausman - 76 points. Gary Pointer - 47 points. John Fitzgerald - 39 points. Other squad members: Larry Thomas, Jim Hale, Jim Lehman. The team made 308 of 948 field goal attempts = 32%, and made 166 of 372 free throws for 45%.
