November 16, 1963 BasketBall - Collins girls lost a close defensive game on the home court to Mingo 35-31. Leading scorers were Vicki Mullihan - 21 pts., Karen Kingman - 8 pts. Pat Kingman (f), suffered a badly sprained knee in the Gilman game and will be out for about a month. Bill Brooks, coach, said we looked a lot better than the last game as I am quite satisfied with the defense and our offense looked like it is coming along. (Lineup not found)
The boys broke a 36-game losing streak, soundly defeating Mingo 53-32. The victory came for the first time since 1961, leading 18 to 14 at the half and 29-22 at three quarters, a full-court press in the final quarter completely baffled the Mingo team for a 24-10 scoring margin.
