May 17, 1963 The Annual Collins Alumni Banquet will be held in the high school lunch room on May 25 at 6:30 p.m. The 1963 seniors and the class of 1938 will be honored with the class of 1937 in charge of the evening. An interesting program is planned and music for the dance following the banquet will be furnished by Oscar Hall. For reservations contact Mrs. Bill (Dorothy) Dunshee or Mrs. Donald (Doris) Smith.

May 21, 1963 Collins baseball team closed out the season with a strong victory over NESCO 10-5. Collins started out with 3 runs in the 1st and had 3-1 lead going into the 4th when NESCO scored 3 runs. Collins scored 1 in their half of the 4th to tie the game and wrapped up the game with 6 runs in the 5th, with final score of Collins winning 10-5. Jerry Crabb was starting pitcher, but was relieved in the 5th inning by Gary Pointer. Pitching summary: Innings - 7, hits - 7, runs - 5, strikeouts - 7, walks - 6. Team had 4 hits, 3 strikeouts, received 8 walks, and 3 fielding errors. Collins season record is 6-5. (Lineup not found)

May 22, 1963 Softball - The Collins Clipperettes hostesses on the Collins diamond as Ballard overwhelmed them 22-2. Ballard scored 10 runs in the 1st inning and 5 more in the second, and 5 more the next 3 innings for the 22 runs, with Collins scoring 1 run in the 2nd and 1 in the 3rd. Linda Tiffany pitched for Collins. (Lineup not found)

May 29, 1963 A commencementaddress by Jack Shelley (KRNT newscaster) entitled "Wonderful Tomorrow" was the highlight of the 71st Annual Commencement exercise May 23 for 19 Collins seniors. Program: Invocation - Rev. Wm. Hill; Boys Glee Club - "Were You There?;" Girls Glee Club - "You'll Never Walk Alone;" Miss Swaim - "Rendition of Goodbye;" Diplomas presented - Robert Hunt, Pres. of the Board of Education; Benediction - Rev. James Louk. Members of the 1963 class: Robert Crabb, Linda Carson, Dale Laudner, Vernon Hickle, John Jacobson, Jane Dodd, Sally Coughenour, Charlene Laughlin, Betty Downing, Clyde Dalby, Esther Swaim, James Newton, Douglas Smith, Jerry Talburt, Barbara White, Ronald Tiffany, Dean Uitermark, Charles Struthers, David Richeson. Valedictorian - Jane Ann Dodd; Salutatorian - Linda Carson. Class motto - "There is More Beyond."

June 3, 1963 The Annual Class Day was held May 22 at 1:30 P.M. in the Collins High School auditorium/gym. Program: Charlene Laughlin, class pres. - short Welcome Speech and reading of the Class Will and Prophesy. Senior Class - Presented a short skit about "A Day in Court." The cast was all female (with appropriate costumes for the men of the class). Athletic awards - Mr. Brooks and Mr. Hunzelman. Also music award presentations by Mrs. Holcomb. Awards presented to the seniors: Valedictorian - Jane Ann Dodd; Salutatorian - Linda Carson; Citizenship - Jane Ann Dodd; Leadership - Linda Carson and Jim Newton; Activity - Charlene Laughlin; Special sports - Sally Coughenour and Jerry Talburt.

The concluding event was a brief talk by Supt. E. E. Jackson and the presentation of certificates to the Eighth Grade class.

June 5, 1963 The Ballard softball team overwhelmed the Collins Clipperettes 28-7. Collins scored 3 runs in the 1st inning and held Ballard to 2 runs in their half, but Collins was unable to score again until 2 runs in the 4th and 5th innings. Ballard went on to score in every inning for the 28-7 victory. Collins girls had 1 hit. Downing and Tiffany pitched for Collins. (Lineup not found)
