April 16, 1963 Collins baseball team won a pitchers' duel game over Bondurant 3-2. Collins scored 2 runs in the 2nd inning with Bondurant tying the game with one run in the 3rd and 5th innings. In the top of the 7th Harold Laughlin scored from 3rd base on a long sacrifice fly ball by Fred Altes for the victory. Gary Pointer and Jerry Crabb had the only 2 hits for Collins. April 19, 1963 Baseball - Collins scored their 1st and only run in the top of the 1st with Radcliffe scoring 3 runs in the bottom of the 1st and 2 more later for a 5-1 victory over the Collins Clippers. Collins batters had 2 hits, 17 strikeouts, and no walks. Collins 1st inning score was on a double by Crabb and a single by Pointer, Collins only hits and runs of the game. Radcliffe's 3 1st inning runs were all unearned with the aid of two Collins team errors. Gary Pointer pitched: Innings - 4, hits - 4, runs - 4, strikeouts - 3, walks - 1. April 25, 1963 Collins Track Team scored 21 points for 4th place in quadrangular track meet at Maxwell. 100 Yard dash - Denny Krausman - 4th; 880 Yard run - Harold Laughlin - 2nd, John Crabb - 4th; Mile run - Jerry Talburt - 3rd; 880 Yard relay - Collins 3rd; Mile relay - Collins 3rd; 2-Mile relay - Collins 1st; Medley relay - Collins 2nd; Long jump - Denny Krausman - 4th; High jump - Mike Rumbaugh - 4th.
April 26, 1963 Baseball - Collins scored 2 runs in the 2nd inning on a double by Jerry Crabb and added a run in the 5th inning for a 3-0 win over Gilman on their diamond. Gilman loaded the bases in the bottom of the 7th with no one out and Gary Pointer, pitcher, responded by striking out the next 3 batters. Gary Pointer pitched: Innings - 7, hits - 2, runs - 0, strikeouts - 18 (the other 3 outs were fly balls to the outfield, no infield putouts), walks - 4. May 1, 1963 Collins Baseball team had a strong finish to defeat Mingo 10-3 on the home diamond. Mingo had a 3-2 lead at the end of 3 innings. Collins took control to score 8 runs over the next 5 innings for the 10-3 win. John Crabb led the hitting with 3 singles and driving in 4 runs. Harold Laughlin also had 2 hits.
