September 25, 1962 The seniors went after material for their 1963 annual on Friday.
October 5, 1962 The Collins school boardand Supt. E. E. Jackson were at Huxley Monday night attending a Story County school board meeting.
October 23, 1962 The Collins P.T.O. will meet Monday night, Oct. 29 instead of their regular meeting night. Open house is for Grade School and Junior High and High School. All parents are asked to come and view the rooms and speak with the teachers. Refreshments will be served.
October 31, 1962 "Take Your Medicine" will be presented by the Collins Junior Class October 26 in the school auditorium/gym. The play is directed by Mrs. Miriam Jackson.
The cheerleaders for the 1962-63 basketball season have been elected: Barb White, Mary Ann Evans, Maxine Hunt, Sheila Johnson.
The music department, band, and glee club will attend the music festival at Gilbert Nov. 13. Rehearsals will be in the afternoon and the program at 7:30 pm.
The seniors are taking orders for 1963 Annuals. Pictures for the annual will be taken Nov. 8.
November 12, 1962 The Parent-Teachers Open House was held Monday, Oct. 29 in the Collins school. There were near 250 people present to meet the teachers, view books, displays and visit the science rooms. Several high school boys presented experiments. The business meeting was in charge of Bill Atwood. A lunch was served at the close of the evening's educational program.
