"Papa Says No," the Junior Class Play, which will be presented Friday, October 24, is a three-act comedy, which the entire family is sure to enjoy. Cast: Ronnie Etnier as Bill Sykes, the hotel clerk; Danny Long as "Joe," the bellhop; Beverly Kelderhouse as "Toots," the elevator girl; Shirley Kern as "Miss Watts," the meddlesome permanent guest; Gary Borts as "Pete Carter," a young man not long out of college; Lois Struthers as "Mrs. Carter," Pete's mother; Doug Gibford as "Mr. Page," a dictatorial businessman; Betty Jane Kearns as "Janet," Mr. Page's daughter; John Tiffany as "Jack Prescott," Janet's fianc?; Rita Branscomb as "Liz," and Margo Mead as "Sally," two waitresses in the hotel coffee shop; Bob Dodd as the plain-clothed detective; Duretta Phares as "Mrs. Hawkins," looking for a hotel room; Margaretha Fitzgerald as "Mrs. Hawkins" child.

The music department would like to thank all the mothers who participated in the Music Breakfast and also thank the people of the community for their contributions. Solo and ensemble work has begun and many selections are ready for use by the community.

Grade News: 2nd - As we near the end of the first six weeks, we find many of us are learning to listen better and to speak one at a time. We have enjoyed the many contributions to our Science Table as well as listening to the many books being read that the boys and girls brought; 3rd - In Social Studies we are studying about wheat and how it is grown. The boys brought farm toys so we could see what implements are used in preparing seed beds.

High School News - The seniors went to Des Moines to have their pictures taken Monday (Sarwin Studio?). Basketball practice is starting this week. As well as regular day practice, there will be some night practices.
