Freshmen Initiation was held Friday at the high school. After having been assigned various costumes by the sophomores, each lowly freshman came to school Friday armed with candy, shoe shining equipment, and a nice speech. This mayhem continued through the evening program when the green freshmen were required to do their initiation performance for the students, parents, and teachers. A dance followed. Intermission entertainment was by the Mad Martians and Walt Nichol. Sophomore view of initiation: By the end of the day, the sophomores were overflowing with amusement and candy. Even though I was on the dance committee, I had no idea Walt Nichol could sing so well. It has been a year since I was a little green freshman. My thoughts have changed considerably in a year's time all that is now left of the initiation is the memory and some very good pictures.
