Innovations at C.H.S.: Once again school is in session, but this year C.H.S. has taken on a new air, many additions are present. The most conspicuous addition is our new gymnasium/auditorium. The new shop is located under the new gym. (Insert 2006: Old shop located in the lower basement of the 1909 grade school building) Supt. Jackson has moved into his new office and the outer office is used by school secretary, Mrs. Serbein. We are eating on new tables in the lunchroom which was completed last year. We also have two more large classrooms, a welcomed and much needed addition. (Insert 2006: Classrooms located above the lunchroom. Lunchroom and classrooms occupy same space as formerly occupied by the old gymnasium) (Insert 2006: Information on school buildings' improvements, renovation, and construction of new gym/auditorium is available on date entries of February 16, 1956, March 1, 1956, and May 17, 1956. Shorthand was used by the Romans as far back as 63 B.C. What geniuses! The seniors sold ads last Wednesday and received enough money to start an annual. The enrollment for last year (56-57) and this year (57-58) are: Grades K-6th 164, 162. Jr. High (7th - 8th) 54, 50. High School (9th- 12th) 65, 71. Totals - 283, 283.
