January 1922 High School opened the 1922 calendar year in the new Junior High/High School Building. This is special event for all students. The Junior High-High School (grades 7 through12) move into new building with much more space and facilities. The elementary grades (1 through 6 *Kindergarten was added in 1942) have 2 levels of 3-level 1909 building for use. High School continued to use lower level for agriculture and manual training/shop classes. The gymnasium area of the 1909 building was converted to shop use (woodworking and mechanics).

May 1922 Graduation Class: Floyd Atwood, Lowell Carver, Ila Crabb, Ethel Dulaney, Esther Holland, Doris Morrison, Mildred Mullihan, Ronald Richardson, Genevieve Sinnott, Leola Stratton, Harold Vasey. (Insert 2003: First graduating class from the newly-constructed school building.)

December 13, 1922 School Board met at School House to confer with Architect Thorwald Thorson, of Forest City and M. F. Binzhof plumbing and heating contract. Board authorized final payment to M. F. Binzhof Co., heating and plumbing contractor, showing a balance due of $3,550.69 for final payment. (Insert 2003: Cause for extensive delay of final payment is unknown.)

(Insert 2003: School Building Project Cost Summary: General contractor (M. A. Floyd Company) = $72,649.95; Plumbing and Heating (M. F. Binzhof) = $18,998.50; Electrical contract for wiring and fixtures (McGrew Electrical Company) = $2,535.36; Architect building plans and building inspection (Thorwald Thorson) = $4,449.32; Legal and bonding company fees = $1,495.00; Gas = $721.59; Curtains = $398.00; Chairs = $720.00; Laboratory = $126.00. Several other incidental costs of approximately $27,000.00 = slightly over $129,000.00 total project cost.

The above December 13, 1922 paragraph and Insert 2003 are included in this Part I Era as they are the conclusion of the high school building project.
