Grade News: 2nd We are studying the bodies of birds. We drew pictures of birds using their different bills for catching food. The pictures are on the bulletin board. 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th had their usual spelling tests with several students in each grade having 100 percent correct.

Last Friday night the high school students were entertained at a dance sponsored by members of the paper staff. The main attraction at the dance was a large Maypole in the center of the floor made of assorted pastel colors. For lunch, the paper staff served glazed donuts and pop. We of the paper staff had a lot of fun preparing for the dance and hope everyone had as much fun dancing.

Floyd Harger, 42, who was athletic coach and junior principal in Collins school last year, was killed Wednesday night when his car struck a bridge railing near Grand River, Iowa, his native home area. Mr. Harger was engaged in farming this year. His parents live at Grand River.

May 11, 1950 - The 1950 Senior Class proudly distributed Annuals "The Clipper" Monday afternoon in the high school assembly. One hundred annuals were printed and nearly all sold. This is an event of great importance as five years has lapsed since the previous annual was printed.

1950 Annual Cover page: Annual Dedication: We, the Senior Class of 1950, dedicate this Annual, "The Clipper" to our Superintendent, W. Dean McKee. Supt. McKee has been with our school for three years and we want him to know how much we appreciate al he has done for us. In future years we will recall our own High School days and Supt. McKee will stand in our minds as one who really deserves more credit than we can express.

Page 1: The Clipper is put out by the Seniors of Collins High School. From each class in high school one person was selected to write the class history. A committee of seniors called on business men in both Collins and other towns to solicit ads. The money from these ads, together with subscriptions from advance sales of the Annual, financed the yearbook. The last Collins High School Annual was published in 1945. We hope our revival of the annual will be carried on.
