Stevens and Charley Carr were a deputation in Nevada and placed the petition for consolidation on file in the court house. 190 signers were on the petition. Objections must be on file at the office of the county superintendent by noon Feb. 18.

The Collins school building is one of the best in this section. It would require but comparatively a small addition to make it comply with the necessary requirements should consolidation carry. The Collins schools are already accredited. The conditions are suspicious for a hearty union of the whole township in educational affairs.

March 18, 1920 Iowa State Teacher Association Central Division of the State Teacher’s Association will convene in Des Moines April 1, 2, and 3. Maude Wakefield, County Superintendent.

March 25, 1920 School Elections Yesterday – Following is the result of the election for officers for the Collins Consolidated Independent School District. Owing to the weather and bad roads, only 102 votes were cast. For directors for one year: H. C. Denniston 65 votes, W. C. Heintz 26 votes, J. W. Thompson 37 votes, C. G. Vasey 66 votes. For director for 2 years: T. M. Carver 80 votes, J. C. McCord 27 votes, L. F. Richardson 26 votes, Bradford Stevens 65 votes. For director for 3 years: W. F. Holmes 62 votes, E. A. Carr 45 votes. (Insert 2003: The petition for consolidation filed near February 16, 1920 was officially enacted with this election.)

April 5, 1920 School board of Collins Independent School District met in called session at the school house for the purpose of organizing Consolidated School Board of the Consolidated Independent School District of Collins. The reorganized Collins Consolidated School Board Members are: C. G.Vasey elected President: Members are H. C. Denniston, Bradford Stevens, W. F. Holmes, T. H. Carver.

April 14, 1920 School board met in a special meeting for the purpose of selling bonds of the Consolidated District of Collins TownshipÉ Board action taken to accept Geo. M. Betchtel & Co. of Davenport, Iowa, bid for bonds in accordance with the following contract and that the President and Secretary be authorized to sign same.

April 15, 1920 School board met and re-elected Supt. C. W. Kirk at a salary of $3,000 per year.

May 6, 1920 School Exhibit Students of home economics and manual training in the Collins School extend to the public an invitation to visit and inspect rooms on Wednesday, May 12 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. to inspect work done by students.

May 9, 1920 The Collins High School team is making preparations to go to Nevada tomorrow, Friday afternoon where they will play the Nevada High School. Every body who can should go and help the boys win this match.

May 13, 1920 Vote on School Bonds May 29th May 29th is the day set to vote on the proposition of whether bonds in the amount of $125,000 are to be issued by the Collins Consolidated Independent School District which has just been organized. The school board informs us they have adopted policy of
