Agriculture: Two boys from the junior and senior class will attend the District Vocational Agriculture and FFA Leadership Conference on Wednesday, September 27. The conference will deal with methods of planning FFA activities for this year and providing training for boys in acting as officers of the chapters. The Ag instructor is making visits to all the boys' farm homes and has visited about half of them.

September - October Baseball Season: Collins defeated Huxley 12-5. Bob Titus struck out 11 batters and allowed only one hit. Collins Lineup: Pritchard (lf) - 2; Renfeldt (1b) - 1; Miller (cf) 1; Oswalt (ss) - 2; Marsh (3b) - 1; Titus (p) - 1; Evans (c) - 0; Smith (rf) - 1; Holland (2b) 1. The Boys lost to Maxwell 4-3 in a very well played game.Titus pitched a 2-hitter and struck out 9. (No box score found). The Boys defeated Rhodes 16-7. Every member on the roster saw action in the game.Titus, Oswalt, and Rhoades did the pitching with Evans and Keagle catching. Oswalt hit a home run. Sectional Tourney - Collins defeated Huxley 7-6 and lost to Maxwell 1-0. Season Record: Three victories, two losses (both by one run to Maxwell.)

Dramatics: Two one-act plays were given by the Dramatics Club last Friday evening, were well presented and provided an enjoyable evening for those attending. The Club wishes to thank the public for the good turnout.

Junior Class Play: Play is "Listen to Leon." Cast members are: Bob Titus, Frankie Miller, Laura Sager, Mildred Swanson, Albert Vasey, Patty Fertig, Bernice Hofer, Dick Long. The play is scheduled for presentation Oct. 31.

November 2, 1944 Boys Basketball Practice is going strong. Shipley is the opening game opponent.

The State Center Girls basketball team came for a practice game with Collins Monday. State Center won 30-26.

November 9, 1944 Agriculture: The Farm Shop boys are continuing concrete work. The crew did a good job on the runway last week. The class is expecting to start a hog house in the near future.
