Corn picking is another proposition with the class. The question is: Which is the best method, by machine or by hand?

Community Agriculture Since the last issue three cars of lime have arrived. They were received as follows: One by Earl Robinson and Mr. Carr, one by Charles Kimberley and John Hattery, and one by Fletcher Mead.

The Library We have in our school a very well equipped library. It contains books of fiction, research books, and poetry. You should cater to the old saying that “Books Don’t Lie” and use our library. It is free for the use of the student and may be used by outsiders as well. An important addition to our library is the Traveling Library. A small deposit of a dollar is required in order to draw books from it. Then the person is entitled to check out two books for fourteen days.

The team has not been picked by Coach Jespersen as yet, but Joe and Thurman Streeter as guards, Jeff Morrison and Orval Smith as forwards, John or Kenneth Haas and Ober Elliott. However, these are the promising ones.

November 22, 1928 The boys basketball team returned home Friday night much crestfallen. Though the boys put up a good fight, they lost both games. We do not need to be ashamed of our boys though they were defeated. They put up a real, clean, sportsmanlike battle. (No box score found)

This week is among those most hated during the school year. Six weeks Exams.

The eighth grade arithmetic class has been studying the business world.

Miss Ives picked out the following girls for the basketball team: First team squad members – Forwards: Gertrude Smith, Arleen Pritchard, Genevieve Shickell; Guards – Harriett Sokol, Ethlyn Keagle, Beatrice Pritchard, Kathryn Kimberley; Center – Vilda Smith, Ruby Snapp; Side Center – Mildred Gearhart, Opal Vasey. Second team: Forwards – Gwendolyn Crosby, Velma Lafferty; Guards – Daisy Mary Kimberley, Gwendolyn Carver; Center – Mable Huffaker; Side Center – Belle Vasey. (Insert 2003: Girls played 3 courts, 2 girls in each court. Also center jump after each basket.)
